Soccer Tournament for International Schools
(Boys U18 7 a-side, Girls U18 7 a-side)

NO ENTRY FEE. All tournament expenses will be funded by St. Stephen's

There is a two-boys-team-per-school and two-girls-team-per-school limit for schools invited to the tournament. A coach or an adult, who will be responsible for the team and all the players, must accompany each team. BOYS FORMAT: We are aiming to include 12 teams to form two round-robin groups and then semifinals and finals. Plate tournament for the teams that do not qualify to the semifinals. Using three 7-a-side fields, each team will play a minimum of 5 games of 25 minutes. GIRLS FORMAT: We are aiming to include 8 teams to form two round-robin groups and then semifinals and finals. Plate tournament for the teams that do not qualify to the semifinals. Using two 7-a-side fields, each team will play a minimum of 5 games of 25 minutes. The tournament will be scheduled from 09:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday.

Application process

If you are interested in participating, please fill out the application form and email it to sports@sssrome.it. The application is due on February 15th. Please be advised that schools requesting to participate should sign up only if they are certain that they will attend the tournament. A last-minute withdrawal will create organizational problems that will be highly detrimental for the tournament and all participants. All players must be registered students in the participating school for the current academic year. Participants must be ages 14 to 18 (American system: grades 9-12, English system: years 10-13).

Health and safety

Medical staff with ambulance will be on site for the duration of the tournament. Participating teams should check with their schools about the insurance policies covering their players during the tournament.

Referees

Professional referees have been selected for this tournament. The company providing the referees is the Associazione Romana Arbitri.

The Venue

The venue will be the modern A.S.D. Atletico 2000 sports complex (Via di Centocelle 100) in the heart of Italy’s capital, Rome. The A.S.D. Atletico 2000 complex is made up of one 11-a-side, three 7-a-side (all fields synthetic grass, astroturf 4th generation), along with changing rooms, a restaurant/bar, a hall for events and a large parking lot. The complex is a 10-minute walk from the nearest underground stop at Numidio Quadrato (Linea A). Schools travelling from outside Rome are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity and enjoy a weekend trip exploring Rome and the vibrant life of this timeless city
