There is a two-team-per-school limit for schools invited to the tournament. Each team is allowed to have a maximum of 12 players. A coach or an adult who will be responsible for the team and all the players must accompany each team. We are aiming to include max 8 teams and form two round-robin groups to decide the teams that will make it to the semifinals and finals. Plate tournament for the teams that do not qualify to the semifinals. Using two 8-a-side and one 7-a-side fields, each team will play a minimum of 4 games of 30 minutes. The tournament will be scheduled from 09:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday.

Application process

If you are interested in participating, please fill out the application form and email it to sports@sssrome.it. The application is due on February 15th. Please be advised that schools requesting to participate should sign up only if they are certain that they will attend the tournament. A last-minute withdrawal will create organizational problems that will be highly detrimental for the tournament and all participants. All players must be registered students in the participating school for the current academic year. Participants must be ages 14 to 18 (American system: grades 9-12, English system: years 10-13).

Health and safety

Medical staff with ambulance will be on site for the duration of the tournament. Participating teams should check with their schools about the insurance policies covering their players during the tournament.

Referees

Professional referees have been selected for this tournament. The company providing the referees is the Associazione Romana Arbitri.

The Venue

The venue will be the modern A.S.D. Certosa sports complex (http://certosacalcio.it/ Via di Centocelle 246) in the heart of Italy’s capital, Rome. The A.S.D. Certosa complex is made up of one 11-a-side, two 8-a-side, one 7-a-side and two 5-a-side pitches, along with changing rooms, a restaurant/bar, a hall for events and a large parking lot. The complex is a 10-minute walk from the nearest underground stop at Numidio Quadrato (Linea A). From this central location you are encouraged to explore Rome and the vibrant life of this timeless city
